Deborah Benefield McManus is a graduate of Randolph County High School. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University majoring in Math and minoring in Basic Engineering.  She has a Master of Science degree from Auburn University majoring in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in Computer Science. She worked for Alabama Power as a Systems Analyst for a few years. She returned to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to complete her Master of Arts in Education. Deborah taught at The Alabama School of Fine Arts, Handley Middle School, The Donoho School, and Anniston High School.  She worked as Technology Coordinator at Anniston City Schools prior to returning to her roots in Randolph County Schools. She believes that technology is a tool that students must use to be successful in the Twenty-first Century. With technology, the students in rural Randolph County can have the same resources as students in larger metropolitan areas.
